Candidate in municipal elections 2025.
My Helsinki is a city where the routes for pedestrians are safe and comfortable to walk. A city, where art is created and experienced, and where the little Helsinkians are considered important citizens. My Helsinki is an open and bold forerunner, growing sustainably on flexible public transport.
I am a 36-year-old Master of Arts from University of Helsinki and mother of a five-year-old. Art historian, lover of walks and culture. I work as a Head of Communications in a national-level visual artists' association. The central neighbourhood of my life is the area of Kallio and Harju, where I live with my family. In my spare time, you can most likely find me at a library, playground, café, museum or nature. Some of my favorite places in Helsinki are the Yrjönkatu swimming hall, the archipelago and Lammassaari area.
In the spring of 2025, I will run as a candidate in the municipal elections for the first time!
I have gained experience in politics when I previously worked as a parliamentary assistant, as a political special advisor for the green deputy mayors and served as chairperson of the Greens in Helsinki.
I act as the chairperson of Helsinki Pedestrians' association.
For the past year and a half, I have had the pleasure of representing the Greens within the environment and permits subcommittee of Helsinki. The subcommittee processes e.g. building permits and decisions on the establishment of new nature reserves.
My themes in brief:
More space and safety for pedestrians.
Helsinki grows sustainably on flexible public transport.
Culture is an important driving force for Helsinki. It should be seen as a strategic part of the city's development.
Helsinki must be an inspiring and safe city for children, where families want to settle and stay.
Helsinki should promote equality and act against racism. We shoud not close our doors, but openly welcome new people from all over the world to work, study and start a family and home in Helsinki.
